While it seems like every kid grew up with the insatiable longing to own a car, I very quickly came to realize that driving isn’t for everyone; not for me at least. Something about its demand for absolute concentration and precision doesn’t quite work with my over-active imagination.

However, where regular cars fall short, remote controlled cars seems to provide a more whimsical and experimental side to car ownership. They are pretty much little pieces of plastic magic that help us live out our wildest fantasies.

Typically, when you are in the market to buy an RC vehicle RC vehicle – hobby or toy-grade, you will be faced with the question of what kind of RC vehicle best suits your need. Of the very many types that exist, between the two wheel and four wheel drives or flying contraptions, tanks happen to be a more interesting kind of remote control vehicle. But not in all the right ways, because it seems like an unpopular choice of sorts – but its association with war certainly doesn’t help its appeal. Nonetheless, the tanks manage to make a statement in a way that R/C cars and flying contraptions cannot.

So, what makes remote controlled tanks stand out in the crowd?

There are quite a few options available when you’re looking to buy an RC vehicle. In all truth, remote controlled cars, sailboats, and flying contraptions abound. But mind you, they aren’t for everyone. Some of us (like yours truly) prefer to take a more unconventional path to finding real R/C happiness. And we find it – in the form of RC excavators.

Maybe it’s a subtle hint that I should take a more construction-oriented career path, but being an adult that might be a long stretch. However, in children, construction oriented remote control toys like Excavators encourage creative imagination and play which in turn help the child develop good coordination skills. As the child learns to manipulate an excavator, their senses develop rapidly; not to mention, they enjoy some fresh outdoor air – which is not to say that you can’t use an R/C excavator indoors.

Admit it.

Or at least drive briskly through rough terrains and feel the open, mountain air on your face.

Unfortunately for you and I, life gets in the way of the simple indulgence of owning a real-life Buggy with which we can live out all our bashing dreams; but who says you can’t get what you want in simulation form?
