Even the highest quality asphalt pad will come under strain and begin to crack.
Over time the asphalt will age and be attacked by the elements. What are you to do when this happens? Should you get the professionals in to repair it? Or, worse still, replace it?
The answer is no. We have compiled a list of the best asphalt sealers. You can treat your asphalt before it gets to the point of no return, and, you know what, even if it does, we have products that will still repair it for you.
For a small investment and a little of your time, you can repair your asphalt driveway for less than a hundred dollars. Compare that to the thousands you could pay to have a contractor come in and do it for you, and you can see how it makes sense to take care of your own problems.

This is a really superb kit which can turn sealing some asphalt from a thousand dollar job to a hundred dollar job. We love that the kit comes with everything you need to get the job done. You have the rubber pieces. There is a container to hold them as they melt and a heater which you plug into a standard socket to melt the rubber.
The kit also comes with gloves and safety glasses to be worn when the mixture is heating and also when you are pouring the mixture into the cracks. Also included are all the tools you will need to smooth the hot rubber into the crack or chip. A scraper will help to move the rubber around, and the brush will give a smooth even finish.
This is an easy kit to use, and one payment covers all you need for the job.
Be careful when you use this product. The sealer comes as a powder which can stain, but then it is intended for outdoor use, so keep it there and mix it up outside. Depending on the intended job, you can mix this to any viscosity you desire. For smaller cracks, you will want a runnier liquid which you can pour into them, and for larger cracks, you will want something more like putty, which you can smooth into.
We love the versatility and the fact that you can use the same product in different ways. A lot of sealers will only give you one distinct application. This sealer can save you a lot of money and a lot of time. If you have large cracks, you can also add gravel to the mix to extend the reach of this product.
This is an excellent patching sealer which is so versatile that you will not believe what it can do. Firstly, let’s deal with your asphalt. You can use this sealer to treat even the biggest holes and cracks. It is also able to adhere to a material when the material is wet (though for best results, use when your asphalt is dry). The best part is, you can use it on other materials too. This patching mortar will adhere to wood, concrete, brick, metal, and more. You can even fill post holes with it.
The system is very easy to use. There are three ingredients in the pail, which can be mixed inside of the pail. Once they are mixed, you can use a trowel or another tool to apply the mixture to the hole and smooth it out when you are done.
This mixture is so versatile that we would recommend having it in your garage even if you do not have an asphalt driveway.
This is one of the cheapest sealers on our list, and one bucket of it will seal up to 500 sq. ft of asphalt. This is a water-based emulsion which means that it will not be as hard on your skin or clothes should you spill it. It is also a very easy product to install, and the liquid nature of the application makes it quick to install with a large brush.
Give this product two days to dry before your drive or walk on it, and make sure not to apply it if there is rain forecast. Once the sealer has been applied and has been given time to dry, you will feel as if you have a completely new driveway.
A fantastic product which can cover up to 500 sq. ft with only one bucket-full. You can really cover a lot of ground with this sealer, and we would recommend buying a large brush to apply it if you are covering a large area. The brush will also help you to get an even coat.
The great thing about this product is that it will repair the cracks as you go. If you have cracks which are over 1/8”, then you may need to get a special crack filler, but if you have small cracks across your driveway, then you can seal and fill as you go. The ease with which you can do this makes it a great product in our opinion.
After treating, your asphalt will be dry in 4 hours, and you can begin to drive and walk on in after 24 hours if the weather is warm or 48 hours if you are in a colder climate.
Even just hearing about the products, you can begin to see how easy it is to fix your asphalt drive by yourself. We love how cheap it is, and after doing some work on our drives, we are glad that we never have to deal with a contractor again.
Sealing your own drive can give your drive more protection, more time, and fewer problems. It does not matter the state of your drive; there is a product on our list for you. The satisfaction you get from taking matters into your own hands is worth its weight in gold.
